Financial Planning Process

The process we utilize is the approach practiced by those professionals designated as a Certified Financial Planner (CFPTM). The Financial Planning Process consists of the following six essential steps:

  1. Establishing and defining the Client-Planner relationship
  2. Gathering Client data, including goals
  3. Analyzing and evaluating the client's financial status
  4. Developing and presenting financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives
  5. Implementing the financial planning recommendations
  6. Monitoring the financial planning recommendations

Levels of Financial Planning

At Cornerstone Asset Management, we offer various levels of financial planning. We offer a basic Financial Assessment as well as several other levels of Financial Planning, depending upon the complexities of the client's financial situation and needs.

In addition to offering various levels of Financial Planning, we can create an Asset Allocation Analysis for a customer. An Asset Allocation Analysis reviews a client's current Asset Allocation, establishes his or her Risk Tolerance Level, and then creates an accurate Asset Allocation Proposal. This Analysis graphically compares the client's current Asset Allocation to the proposed Asset Allocation.

Investment Management

After we prepare a detailed analysis of your current financial situation, we will develop your personal financial plan and investment portfolio (e.g, Stocks, Preferred Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, ETFs, Annuities, etc.), which are designed to help you meet your future financial needs and goals. The investment strategies we recommend correlate to your financial goals as well as your current stage of life, that is, whether you are currently working, approaching retirement, or already in retirement.

We measure investment performance against standard industry benchmarks. During our regularly scheduled review meetings, we will discuss portfolio performance as well as other important and timely topics.
